Hello, Commanders. This is Hyungsuk Yoo. We failed to respond promptly and accurately to the recent incidents involving misconduct , and we also failed to provide a swift and accurate explanation to our C ommand ers . We did not fully fulfill our responsibility to properly verify and take action against violations, nor did we adequately explain how reports and appeals are reviewed and processed. As Director, I sincerely apologize for failing to uphold trust in fair competition during this process and for causing frustration and disappointment to the Commanders who waited for us to resolve these issues. Your records reflect years of grinding and research, as well as countless challenges. The mere suspicion that those efforts could be surpassed through unfair means is enough to undermine the very meaning of competition. On top of that, if you could not be sure that your reports would be properly reviewed or that an incorrect decision could be corrected, it would have been difficult for you to continue trusting and enjoying the game. This is not simply an issue of rankings and rewards. It is a matter of our failure to properly honor the time and effort you, Commanders, have invested, and I believe it is a matter of whether you can trust the way NIKKE is operated. I oversee development at SHIFT UP, and I have devoted much of my time and effort to improving the development and content of NIKKE. However, just as important as creating good content, I should have paid closer attention to the environment in which Commanders play the game and to whether issues are properly addressed and resolved when they arise. Through this incident, I realized, belatedly, that I need to view the role of Director from a much broader perspective than before. Looking back, this should have been obvious, yet I failed to give even these obvious aspects the attention they deserved. I sincerely apologize for the concern and disappointment this has caused Commanders. I will not stop at reflecting on the shortcomings this incident has revealed. In addition to content development, I will personally oversee both the implementation process and the results of the measures outlined below. First, I would like to explain the key improvements. · We will improve the battle logs and verification systems used to detect and investigate cheating. As we examined this matter in detail, we also reviewed a number of possible technical improvements. To date, verification of cheating has been conducted based on the battle logs we have obtained and established verification criteria. However, since NIKKE generates a wide variety of logs during battles, identifying complex abnormal situations requires a significant amount of manual review, which has made the process inefficient. Furthermore, our ability to proactively detect abnormal situations and identify issues was insufficient. We will therefore expand the data recorded in battle logs to enable effective detection of abnormal situations based on a wider range of information, while also improving the verification logic that utilizes this data. We will ensure that the battle logs and verification logic obtained in this manner can be utilized not only in the automated verification system—which we will continue to strengthen—but also in manual verification processes conducted when additional confirmation is required. After reviewing various approaches, we concluded that improving these battle logs and verification systems is the most important measure currently needed. We will treat this as a priority and prepare it as quickly as possible. · We will improve the reporting and appeal processes respectively . For the in-game reporting feature, we will improve the way we communicate the outcome of each report so players can confirm whether their reports have actually been reviewed. When an appeal is submitted, we will further strengthen the manual review process in which a staff member personally re-examines the penalty decision. Additionally, we will maximize the verification accuracy to ensure that normal gameplay is not mistakenly flagged as cheating, and we will correct any errors once they are identified through review . · We will clarify the criteria for misconduct and penalty policies. We will take firm action against violations that undermine fair competition. We will clearly outline specific criteria for violations and how penalties are applied, and when a violation is confirmed, we will take strict action in accordance with established standards and the actual impact of the violation. · We will strengthen cooperation between SHIFT UP and the operations team. To Commanders, NIKKE is both a game and a service. Creating a great gaming experience and providing a stable service cannot be achieved through the efforts of just one party alone. Moving forward, SHIFT UP will not merely respond to requests but will proactively identify areas in need of improvement and offer suggestions to provide more proactive support. In addition, we will work closely with the NIKKE operations team at Level Infinite to more closely examine issues and feedback received through the game, community, and customer support channels. We will also collaborate to ensure that both parties review and improve the necessary actions. For matters that require additional verification or judgment during operations, both sides will actively share the necessary information and review these matters together. We will also strengthen the development data and technical support that SHIFT UP can provide. The SHIFT UP development team and the NIKKE operations team will share the responsibility of building a single service, collaboratively identifying areas for improvement within our respective roles and continuously addressing any shortcomings. Our response to misconduct is an area that requires continuous improvement; as new methods emerge, we will enhance the accuracy and speed of our detection and response, and continue to refine the necessary systems. More detailed information on the criteria for violations and penalties, the review process following reports and appeals, and the improvements currently being prepared will be provided in the " Notice on the Anti-Cheating Response System and Improvements , " which is published alongside this announcement. We are aware that you have also request ed us to review past competitive records and various cases. We will not exclude something from review simply because it occurred in the past. Based on the records and data currently available and the significance of each matter, we will continue to examine cases where we determine that additional review is necessary. However, given the limitations of re-examining all competitive content and every case from the beginning over such a long period of time, we will establish priorities and proceed with the necessary reviews accordingly. We do not believe this issue will be resolved simply by introducing new rules and systems. Ultimately, we need to demonstrate through our actual operations that we properly investigate problems when they occur, correct any misjudgments, and continue to uphold the commitments we’ve made today even as time goes on. We will not ask you to trust us again right away. Instead, we will make changes one by one through our actual operations to ensure that what I’ve said today isn’t just empty words. We will do everything we can to rebuild your trust so that you can experience these changes firsthand as you play NIKKE in the future.
