Commanders, we sincerely apologize for the frustration caused during our recent response to a series of incidents of misconduct and for undermining your trust in our operations and verification processes. In this notice, we will explain how we have identified and addressed misconduct to date, the technical and operational improvements that will be implemented moving forward, the criteria for determining violations and imposing sanctions, and the procedures for submitting reports and appeals. 1. Current Misconduct Enforcement Process Since disclosing the specific criteria and procedures used for detecting and verifying misconduct could enable individuals to evade detection or exploit the system for fraudulent purposes, we follow the principle of not disclosing specific operational details. However, we recognize that your trust in our response to misconduct and our verification process has been undermined significantly. As a result, we would like to explain how we currently identify and address misconduct, within limits that minimize the potential for abuse. Currently, the detection of misconduct primarily consists of the following processes: continuous automated detection and action against unauthorized programs, manual reviews during the settlement process for competitive content, manual reviews of cases raised through tips and reports across all game content, and reexamination following appeals filed after sanctions have been imposed. 1-1. Unauthorized Program Detection and Handling Process Our detection systems for unauthorized programs operate continuously, regardless of whether a competitive content season is in its seasonal settlement period. Detection of Violation Indicators → Automatically detect security-related information associated with unauthorized programs and identify cases with potential violations Verification of Violation → Determine whether the detected information meets the criteria for sanctions Action → If any violation is confirmed, action is taken in accordance with the relevant standards. Automated detection and enforcement against unauthorized programs operate throughout your use of the service, including outside competitive season settlement. Our operational process also includes reexamining relevant records during the appeal stage after automated detection and enforcement. If necessary, the case will undergo an additional manual review by the relevant personnel. 1-2. Competitive Content Season Settlement Process For competitive content such as Solo Raid, where rankings and rewards are determined, additional manual verification processes are conducted during the settlement phase after a season ends. Selection of Accounts for Review → We examine scores, battle logs, and records related to unauthorized programs to identify accounts and battles requiring additional review. Comprehensive Review → Reviewers manually examine information related to unauthorized programs together with battle and gameplay records. → Repeated or abnormal patterns are analyzed. If necessary, additional account information and records are reviewed to determine whether a violation occurred. Handling of Review Results → If a violation is confirmed, the account is sanctioned, and the results of the relevant competitive content are voided. The competitive content settlement process operates independently of the continuous automated detection system. After identifying cases requiring additional review, a comprehensive manual examination of the relevant information is conducted. 1-3. Content Review Based on Tips and Reports Apart from the settlement phase for competitive content, we conduct manual verification of all content, focusing on cases where tips or reports have been received. Identifying Cases for Review → Based on the content of tips and reports, we identify the accounts and cases requiring investigation. Comprehensive Review → Reviewers manually examine information related to unauthorized programs, scores, logs, battles, and gameplay records. → Repeated or abnormal patterns are analyzed. If necessary, additional account, device, and login-related information is reviewed to determine whether a violation occurred. Handling of Review Results → If a violation is confirmed, sanctions are imposed in accordance with the relevant standards. We do not impose sanctions based solely on the content of a report or complaint. Instead, we comprehensively examine the actual records and gameplay data to determine whether a violation occurred. 1-4. Appeal and Reexamination Process If an appeal is submitted after an account has been sanctioned, we reexamine the relevant records used to determine the sanction. Identifying Cases for Reexamination → We review the reason for the sanction, the records used in the original determination, and any new information submitted by the user. Reexamination and Manual Review → We reexamine security records, gameplay records, and relevant competitive content data. If necessary, the case undergoes manual review by the relevant staff. Handling of Reexamination Results → If a violation is confirmed again, the existing sanction will be maintained. → If a factual error is discovered, the necessary measures will be taken based on the review results. The same applies to sanctions imposed for the use of unauthorized programs. When an appeal is received, we review the relevant records and conduct a manual review. If we receive follow-up inquiries, we will reexamine the existing review results and any newly submitted information. If additional factual verification is required, a manual investigation will be conducted. We have been following this procedure for some time, and all measures taken to date have been based on the records available at the time and the standards in effect then. However, in our recent efforts to address misconduct, there have still been limitations in the efficiency of detection and verification, as well as in our ability to proactively identify issues. The following sections explain the technical and operational improvements we will apply to detection and verification. 2. New Improvements Based on the verification systems described above, we are implementing various technical and operational improvements to identify misconduct more efficiently and improve the accuracy of the verification process. Our main priority is to collect a wider range of battle information and use it more effectively during verification. 2-1. Strengthening Verification Through Battle Logs Previously, we used battle logs when verifying misconduct, but we discovered that improvements were necessary to examine a wider range of battle situations. Therefore, we have expanded the information recorded in battle logs and improved the verification logic used to analyze the relevant data. By expanding the information recorded, we can examine a wider range of battle situations and patterns than before, helping us verify misconduct more efficiently. We will use this additional battle information to make both automated and manual verification more efficient and accurate. 2-2. Strengthening Unauthorized Program Detection and Enforcement Against Macro Use We have also improved our continuous detection and automated verification systems for unauthorized programs. With this update, we will strengthen our security detection functions and strengthen measures against actions that automate or repeat inputs using mouse macros, auto-clicking tools, and other external programs or devices. For cases involving the circumvention of relevant restrictions or repeated use of these methods, we will consider the frequency and duration of violations, whether restrictions were bypassed, the impact on competitive content, and other relevant factors when applying the appropriate sanctions. 2-3. Information Regarding Older Client Versions We have received inquiries about whether abnormal battle behavior is possible using older client versions, so we would like to clarify this matter. We have confirmed that this is not possible using a normal, unmodified older client version. You can only load and play NIKKE normally when the client version matches the server version. It is not possible to participate in battles in competitive content using an older client version with the current server. Modifying the game client in an unauthorized manner, bypassing the normal login process, or abnormally altering game functions may constitute a serious policy violation. If you witness such incidents firsthand or become aware of related information, please report them via the in-game reporting feature or our Customer Support Center so that an appropriate verification can be conducted. 2-4. Further Technical Improvements Aside from the improvements described above, we are also working on further technical improvements to external protection functions, security detection, post-incident data analysis, and abnormal battle analysis systems. We will also improve our handling procedures to ensure that reports can be integrated more smoothly into the verification process. Detailed information about our detection methods and internal verification standards could help people evade detection or be misused in other ways. We therefore cannot disclose every detail of new or updated detection methods. However, we will explain the main improvements confirmed for implementation and any changes users need to know about. 3. Strengthening Identification Criteria and Sanctions for Different Types of Misconduct As part of these improvements, we are also clarifying the scope of major misconduct and the criteria for sanctions. When imposing sanctions for misconduct, we will comprehensively consider the nature of the behavior, the frequency and the duration of the violations, whether the behavior was repeated, whether detection or restriction measures were bypassed, the impact on the competitive environment, any unfair benefits obtained, and other relevant factors. 3-1. Program Modification and Unauthorized Programs That Threaten Security Using programs that abnormally modify the game client or data, alter normal game functions and battle results, and/or bypass security protection functions affects the game environment itself and is classified as a serious violation. In addition to hacks and cheating programs, the use of any unapproved programs or tools to modify, replace, or insert content into game files, resources, and client components may be considered misconduct depending on its impact on the game. Even if such actions are intended to change or optimize visual elements, they are not permitted if they involve unauthorized modifications that affect normal game functions, compromise fairness, or bypass security protection functions. Other unauthorized modifications will also be evaluated based on the nature of the behavior and its actual impact. We cannot provide detailed information about specific program types or lists of detection targets, as this could be used to evade detection or for malicious purposes. However, we will continue to review and refine the list of programs we check. We will also examine relevant records more closely to improve the accuracy of automated detection. Sanction: Account ban for 10 years 3-2. Macros and Gameplay Automation Programs In NIKKE, it is not permitted to use external programs or devices instead of officially provided functions to automate , repeat, or substitute or repeat actions that players must perform themselves. This includes mouse macros, auto clickers, automation scripts, automated gameplay systems, or other external methods to perform actions on behalf of the player. Such behavior uses external tools to replace actions that players must perform themselves. This can negatively affect battle results and, in competitive content, rankings and rewards. We cannot provide detailed information about specific program types or lists of detection targets, as this could be used to evade detection or for malicious purposes. However, we will continue to review and refine the list of detection targets and related programs we check. We will also examine input and gameplay records more closely. These improvements will help our automated checks determine more accurately whether these methods were actually used. Updated sanction: Account ban for up to 10 years We will apply sanctions at different levels by comprehensively considering the frequency and the duration of the violations, whether the behavior was repeated, whether detection or restriction measures were bypassed, the impact on the competitive environment, any unfair benefits obtained, and other relevant factors. In particular, repeated circumvention of relevant restrictions or continuing the same behavior will be considered aggravating circumstances. 3-3. Playing Competitive Content on Another Player's Behalf This refers to having someone other than the account owner play competitive content with rankings or ranking rewards (such as Solo Raid, Union Raid, and Coordinated Operation) in order to obtain scores, rankings, or rewards. This applies whenever the account owner entrusts competitive gameplay to another person, regardless of whether payment is involved. The account owner will be held responsible for the behavior. Results in competitive content must be achieved through the actual gameplay of the account owner. Scores obtained by having someone else play on the account affect other users' fair opportunities to compete. We will not conclude that someone has played competitive content on another player's behalf based solely on an account login or an isolated suspicious circumstance. Instead, we will examine actual gameplay records for competitive content and related information. If necessary, the case will undergo a manual review by the relevant staff. Updated sanction: Account ban for up to 10 years Repeated or organized play on another account owner's behalf, or cases that have a significant impact on competitive results, will be considered aggravating circumstances. If a violation is confirmed, the results of the relevant competitive content will be canceled. Please do not entrust anyone else with playing competitive content on your behalf. 3-4. Malicious Exploitation of In-Game Anomalies We will not determine that misconduct occurred solely because an anomaly appeared in the game. However, when an anomaly has been identified, repeatedly exploiting it to obtain unfair scores, rewards, or other competitive advantages is a violation. Deliberately bypassing related fixes or restrictions to continue exploiting the anomaly is also a violation. If such behavior affects rankings or rewards in competitive content, or infringes upon other users' fair opportunities to compete, we will also examine its impact. In contrast, if an anomaly occurs accidentally during normal gameplay, or if it would be difficult for a user to reasonably notice the anomaly, we will distinguish such cases from malicious exploitation and evaluate them separately. Furthermore, if a user discovers an anomaly, reports it through official channels, and does not repeatedly exploit it to obtain unfair benefits, the case will also be distinguished from malicious exploitation and evaluated separately. Updated sanction: Account ban for up to 10 years Repeated malicious exploitation, bypassing fixes or restriction measures, or behavior that has a significant impact on competitive results will be considered aggravating circumstances. If you discover a suspected case of any of the above behavior, please provide information through the report function or the Customer Service Center. 3-5. Sanction Levels and Evaluation of Competitive Results When a violation is confirmed, we will determine the appropriate level of sanctions by comprehensively considering the nature of the behavior, the frequency and the duration of the violations, whether the behavior was repeated, whether detection or restriction measures were bypassed, the impact on the competitive environment, any unfair benefits obtained, and other relevant factors. Repeated or ongoing violations, circumvention of restriction measures, organized violations, or behavior that has a significant impact on competitive results will also be considered when determining the sanction level. In addition, we will examine the actual impact of scores, rankings, participation eligibility, and rewards obtained through violations, and cancel or reclaim them accordingly. We will also adjust competitive results where necessary. 4. Further Improvements to Reporting and Appeal Processes 4-1. Notification of In-Game Report Results Currently, reports received through the in-game report function or the Customer Service Center are forwarded to the relevant verification process. We will improve this process by notifying users of the outcome of their in-game reports. Once a review is complete, we will email the results to the user's registered address. Report Received → Report is received through the in-game report function. Review → We examine the relevant records. If necessary, a manual review is conducted by the relevant staff. Notification of Results → After the review has been completed, we notify the user of the results by email. Users who sent reports through the Customer Service Center will also receive notification of the review results. 4-2. Improvements to Responses to Appeals We have received feedback indicating that, even after a recent appeal was filed, it was difficult to fully verify how the review was conducted, or that users felt the additional information they submitted was not properly taken into account. We take these concerns very seriously. Going forward, for cases where an appeal has been filed, we will re-examine the grounds for the sanction and the relevant records. If Commanders have submitted additional specific information, or if we determine that further verification is needed for the case, a designated staff member will conduct a manual review to reassess the case by considering both the original determination and the newly submitted information. We will then notify you whether the original action will be upheld based on established criteria. Additionally, if a manual review is conducted, we will ensure that our response clearly confirms that a review has indeed taken place. To ensure consistency in our processing criteria and responses, we apply uniform response standards and formats to identical or similar review results. However, if a separate explanation of the facts is necessary, we will provide additional information within the scope of what has been verified. 4-3. Principles Regarding Inquiries and Customer Service Handling The same standards and procedures will be applied to all players when handling inquiries and appeals. We will not provide preferential treatment or apply special response procedures to specific players based on any factor, including spending amount, account value, or influence on the community. This principle has always been applied to our inquiry and appeal processes, and it will continue to be upheld in the future. For the main customer service topics, we apply consistent processing standards and core guidance to identical or similar inquiries so that our responses are conveyed clearly and accurately. The length and content of a response may vary depending on the scope of the actual issue. If an inquiry contains multiple cases, more information will need to be addressed, and the response may consequently be longer. Differences in response length or level of detail do not indicate that additional preferential treatment has been provided. However, for cases that cannot be adequately addressed using response templates alone, or that require separate verification of the facts, the relevant staff will confirm the details before preparing an individual response. As the specific circumstances and information each user provides may differ, the Customer Service Center may provide additional information within the scope of what has been verified. Accordingly, there may be some differences in the wording or expression of our responses; however, such differences do not affect the consistency of our processing standards or core conclusions. Information Regarding Sanction Durations and Ongoing Investigations We have received inquiries regarding recent customer service responses that provided information on sanction periods verified by the security team, and we would like to clarify the relevant standards. Any information the Security Team can provide regarding the duration of sanctions is based on the sanctions data registered in the system at the time of verification. We cannot independently determine the duration of sanctions beyond the scope registered in the system or arbitrarily speculate on whether there will be future changes in our response. Furthermore, for cases that are still under investigation or undergoing further verification, we cannot provide information until the facts and handling results have been clearly confirmed. Providing information about unconfirmed matters in advance could result in statements that differ from the outcome of a subsequent review. Therefore, please be advised that we are unable to provide additional judgments or responses regarding cases that fall outside the scope of what can be verified or are currently under investigation. 4-4. Scope and Review Procedures for Providing Internal Information Externally We are unable to disclose the specific names of the unauthorized programs identified during the verification process, the detection methods used, or detailed security information, as such information could be exploited to evade detection or bypass security measures if made public. In addition, since we must consider the possibility that security features of other games or programs may interact with each other depending on the user’s PC environment, we do not make simple judgments based solely on detection results; instead, we have implemented a manual verification process to review relevant logs when necessary. When an appeal is received, we will reexamine the security records and related information from the time the sanction was imposed. If further confirmation is necessary, we will conduct an additional manual review. However, if the use of an unauthorized program is still clearly confirmed during the reexamination process, the original determination and explanation may remain unchanged. Nevertheless, as there ha s been feedback suggesting that it is difficult to fully understand how actual verification is conducted during the recent reporting and appeal processes, we will carry out our manual review procedures with greater care and improve the way we communicate the results of reports and appeals. While maintaining the scope of security information that cannot be disclosed, we will continue to improve the verification process and response methods so that users can more clearly understand that their reports or appeals have actually been verified and evaluated. 5. Implementation Schedule 5-1. Technical Improvements to Be Applied on September 17, 2026 The following technical improvements will be implemented through the September 17 update: Stronger security detection and enforcement against macro use Expanded battle-log information and improved verification logic 5-2. Grace Period for the New Rules To ensure that all commanders have sufficient time to review and understand the revised rules, we will implement a 6-day grace period—from the end of maintenance on September 17, 2026, through September 22, 2026—following the adjustment of the rules. Even during the grace period, the detection and verification of misconduct, technical restrictions, and necessary measures will proceed as usual. However, if verification reveals that the violation involves mouse macros, other forms of input automation, or proxy play in competitive content, and if it constitutes a minor violation that did not impact the competitive environment, was not ongoing, and did not circumvent official restrictions , the severity of the account penalty may be reduced after comprehensively considering the actual actions and their impact. The penalty reduction criteria during the grace period described above do not apply in the following cases: Use of unauthorized software, client modification, or actions that threaten game security; Malicious or repeated exploitation of in-game anomalies or bugs to gain an unfair advantage; Malicious circumvention of official technical restrictions or security measures; Repeated violations, organized violations, or actions that significantly impact the fairness of competition. Once the grace period has ended, the temporary penalty reduction criteria described above will no longer apply. If a violation is confirmed, action will be taken in accordance with the revised penalty criteria. 5-3. Further Measures Currently in Preparation We are preparing the following measures in stages. We will announce their implementation schedules separately once they are confirmed: Notification of in-game report results Improvements to responses to appeals Further improvements to security detection and data analysis systems We will not treat this improvement as a one-time measure; instead, we will continue to maintain and improve our security detection and data analysis systems, manual review capabilities, and operational procedures for reports and appeals. Recently, we have once again recognized that our handling of a series of misconduct cases has not given our Commanders sufficient confidence in our processes. Going forward, we will strive to demonstrate that we are worthy of your trust through clearer standards and more careful reviews in our actual operations. We sincerely thank all Commanders who have shared their many criticisms and feedback, as well as everyone who has spoken up for NIKKE. GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE Team
